Vitamins part 1

There are relatively few studies that have explicitly investigated the role of vitamin and mineral supplements in promoting health. More work should be done here.

The term vitamin is derived from the words vital and amine.       Vitamins are organic substances required by all living organisms for healthy life and growth. Among their many properties, vitamins function as coenzymes (helpers to the primary enzyme) in metabolic reactions.

Vitamins and Other Nutritional Supplements are used to prevent the development of of Chronic Disease.

Our cell�s need energy The production requires oxygen. During this process free oxigen (radicals) with the potential to damage cells/DNA. Our body must neutralize these radiacals using certain  vitamins like C, E, K. Some of these so called anti oxidant can be taken from For normal cellular maintenance, growth, and division, these free radicals must be sufficiently neutralized by antioxidant compounds, such as certain vitamins (vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K. Phytochemicals as well as other compounds, some of which the body itself produces have these capabilities.
